Mon General Hospital Emergency Services
At Mon General Hospital, our Emergency Department is a state designated Level IV Trauma Center that cares for patients of all ages who come to the hospital for emergency care. The Emergency Department is equipped to treat serious illnesses, life-threatening conditions and injuries.
All emergency patients are triaged by a registered nurse. Care is provided by a team of doctors and nurses who specialize in emergency medicine. And, when additional testing is needed, the department is located right next to Imaging Services for procedures such as MRI or CT scans.
Located on the 2nd (main) Floor of Mon General, the Emergency Department features 26 private treatment and exam rooms. The department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
When you need an ambulance, Mon EMS
is Monongalia County’s first responder for emergency calls 24 hours per day, seven days per week. An affiliate of Mon Health System, Mon EMS has been providing rescue and emergency transport services to Monongalia County since 1976.
Its experienced staff of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and rescue technicians are trained to manage any conceivable type of emergency. Each of its ambulances is a critical care unit on wheels - fully stocked with advanced life support equipment, including ECG monitors, defibrillators, automatic ventilators and intubation equipment.
In the event of a serious or life-threatening illness or injury, call 911. Be sure to stay on the line with the 911 operator until you are told it is okay to hang up.
